Bonds goes deep twice but the real news is the health of Boston starters and in particular David Ortiz
Posted in General Sports on August 29th, 2006Not since 2004 has Barry bonds gone deep twice in the same game. Only problem with Bonds having a big game is the Giants didn’t, which cost them a win. I’m now declaring that the Mets can take the rest of the regular season off. Up 14.5 games and winners of 9 out of thier last 10 make them look like one of the early favorties to maybe go all the way. Speaking of going all the way the White Sox are just hanging around 5 games or so behind Detroit. The Sox need to put together a winning streak or Detroit needs to go into the tank if the Sox expect to overtake the Tigers. Just when I thought the Reds would make a run the Cardinals make one and extend their lead over the Reds to 3 full games. I still think the Reds have what it takes to overtake the Cards but only time will tell. And last but not least what hasn’t gone wrong for the Red Sox? They have lost 8 of their last 10 and have played bad…really bad lately. The Yankees are kind of just coasting but doing nothing impressive but because of the Boston problems they don’t need to be playing great ball…except maybe for George and Joe.
